Case comes from the same high school that produced 2014 first rounder Foster Griffin and current Virginia center fielder Adam Haseley. Like Haseley, Case's profile is centered around his dangerous lefthanded bat. Case has a loose, fluid swing with a knack for barreling pitches. Scouts grade his raw power as average or slightly better, and believe he'll end up being a productive hitter in the ACC if he honors his commitment to Notre Dame. He plays shortstop for now but is expected to move off the position; while he's a steady defender at present, evaluators don't believe his pure foot speed and glove actions profile at shortstop at the major league level.
