Abreu has been on the amateur scouting scene for quite some time. He was the No. 205 prospect in the 2013 BA 500, thanks to his promising raw power and athleticism. Abreu has slowly but surely tapped into his power at Miami. He hit six home runs as a sophomore in 2015 and had 11 home runs at the end of the regular season this spring. Abreu has plus or better raw power from the left side of the plate, but he has a tendency to collapse on his back side, causing extreme swing-and-miss issues. Abreu has a excellent arm strength in the outfield and remains a decent athlete, though he is a slightly below-average runner. His power potential and strong performance in ACC play this season could make him an enticing middle rounds college bat.
