On the showcase circuit as a rising senior, Keating was wiry and projectable. He'd pitch in the upper 80s and occasionally bump 90. At the WWBA Championships in the fall, Keating showed the potential for a above-average curveball and an above-average changeup. The Clemson recruit was noticeably stronger this spring. Some scouts had his fastball reaching 94 mph early in the spring, though he pitched mostly at 89-91 and bumped 92 more often. He is a good athlete on the mound, with a functional delivery and an extremely loose and easy arm action. In the spring, Keating threw two distinct breaking pitches; a mid-80s slider with hard and late vertical break and a longer, upper 70s curveball that also showed tight spin and late tilt. His slider projects as a plus pitch. His changeup can be an effective ground ball pitch for him, showing late tumbling action down and away from lefthanded hitters. Keating could be selected in the third or fourth round, depending on whether or not he is signable at that point in the draft.
