In a deep year for prep catching, Morgan is one of the more athletic high school backstops in the country. He has the physical attributes to remain behind the plate after having moved to the position from the outfield. His athleticism stands out behind the plate, with good flexibility through his hips and strength in his hands. He blocks well and receives well in the zone but will need to improve his receiving out of the zone and against velocity. He also has above-average arm strength, though it doesn't always play that way. Morgan has a quick stroke and could be a fringe-average hitter, and with continued physical development to his 6-foot, 193-pound frame, he could have plus raw power with natural extension and average power production. The Alabama commit is a well below-average runner.
