Neuweiler wasn't a well-known prospect entering the spring. When scouts came to see his teammate Quentin Holmes, they also got to see Neuweiler, who took advantage of the opportunity. He's a squarely-built 6-foot-1 righthander without much physical projection left to him. Neuweiler's fastball works from 87-92 mph, sitting mostly at 89-91. His most exciting attribute is his hard, low-80s spike curveball. The pitch flashes plus bite with 12-to-6 snap, and some scouts have graded it as a future 60 on the 20-to-80 scouting scale. With his spike grip, however, the pitch is inconsistent for Neuweiler and he sometimes struggles to stay on top of it, leading evaluators who saw him on the wrong day to grade it as a below-average offering. His late rise had some scouts projecting him to go as high as the fifth round. He is committed to LIU Brooklyn but is expected to be signable for the right price.
