Kivett was a 10th-round pick last year by the Indians but didn't sign, returning to Kansas State to try to lead the team back to regional play. Instead, he wound up moving to center field from second base, plateaued in his performance and saw the Wildcats tumble to last place in the Big 12 Conference. Kivett still has the offensive ability that made him the Big 12 player of the year in 2013, with gap power, average speed and baserunning instincts that play up. With hard hands and modest actions, he's a fringy defender in the infield and in center field, with a below-average arm. Kivett needs to improve his defense to fit a future utility role.
