After a season-long struggle in low Class A Greenville in 2015, Monge repeated at the level to open 2016. This time, his performance and tools aligned in impressive fashion, with the 21-year-old hitting .338/.392/.479 in 37 games before holding his own (.274/.331/.392) after an early-season promotion to high Class A Salem. In 2016, Monge showed a solid feel for hitting--albeit with little power--that suggests a potential fourth outfielder whose speed allows him both to help on the bases and to handle corner outfield duties. His strong arm plays well in right. Monge doesn't impact the ball in a fashion that would suggest a likely ability to emerge as a starting corner, but his athleticism and tools suggest a decent chance of a future big league role.
