Baseball season may be months away, but "Prom season" is right around the corner! Prom is one of the most exciting and memorable events of the high school year and involves planning ahead, budgeting and organization. Savvi Formalwear and Baseball America are teaming up to make 2006 the "Most Valuable Prom" ever for you and your high school baseball program. The right tux is just as important as the perfect dress and renting one can be confusing, but Savvi Formalwear can help simplify the process and help raise funds for your high school baseball program at the same time.

Through a direct partnership with the high school coach and principal, the Savvi MVP Program will raise money for the baseball team–-one of the greatest challenges of the coach's season. How? The Savvi MVP Program is simple. Each qualifying high school can sign up directly with their local Savvi dealer. (Click on http://www.savviformalwear.com/locator to find a dealer in your area). Members of the baseball team, under the supervision of their coach, will represent Savvi Formalwear to friends and colleagues at their school. For every tuxedo rented with a Savvi MVP card (provided to the coach by the local Savvi specialist), Savvi will donate $5.00. In addition, your team will be eligible to win prizes provided by Baseball America and The Goldklang Group.

B.J. Upton, first-round draft pick in 2002 from Greenbrier Christian Academy in Virginia and a shortstop for the Tampa Bay Devil Rays, will be the face of the Savvi MVP program. B.J Upton will be featured in ads that will appear in Baseball America and on posters that will be provided to the participating schools. See below for pictures of B.J. Upton is his Savvi tuxedo!

"B.J.'s high school program provided him with the training and experience he needed to become one of the country's most well-known and successful young players," said Chris Ramey, president of Savvi Formalwear. "We are thrilled B.J. joined us in this effort to support great high school baseball programs throughout the U.S."

"Since 2001, Baseball America has been active in raising money to build youth programs throughout the United States, working with Major League Baseball and the RBI program", said Catherine Silver, president and CEO of Baseball America. "In 2006, we are proud to work with The Goldklang Group and Savvi Formalwear on this program. This is the first national campaign sponsored by a consumer brand that will directly benefit the hard-working high school coaches helping them in solving that one consistent challenge--raising money. We hope every coach that is eligible will sign up for this program to make this the most successful high school baseball fundraiser ever!"
