Congratulations. You've reached the mother lode of draft information. You won't find player analysis this inclusive anywhere else. For those who are familiar with Baseball America's traditional Region by Region coverage, you know what we're talking about. And you can access all of that here, for the amazing low price of . . . well, that's all free actually. (And there's really a ton of information in those sections.)
But if you're really a hard-core, down-and-dirty draft aficionado, the Expanded coverage is here for you. For the amazingly low price of $25, you can see all of the expanded Region by Region coverage as well as everything else in the Draft Deluxe package.
The region-by-region scouting reports were compiled and written by Baseball America editor Allan Simpson in consultation with baseball personnel nationwide, including national crosscheckers, area scouts and college coaches.
Players in bold in the rankings are projected to go in the first five rounds. An asterisk denotes a potential first-round pick.
Each state (or group of states) also has been graded on a four-star rating system, with four stars indicating a strong year and one star indicating a poor year. The ratings are based on the level of talent an area generally produces, so California isn't graded on the same scale as Wyoming.
