Tony Richie, c
Bishop Kenny HS; Jacksonville, Fla.

Photo: Bob Libby

Richie, a Florida State signee, has been a much-debated player--scouts either love him or have no interest. His best tool is a powerful bat. He hit .542-6-27 this spring to lead Bishop Kenny High to the brink of a national high school title. Most scouts also see above-average arm strength, but it's his approach to the game that generates the greatest divergence of opinion. He plays so casually at times, especially on defense, that scouts wonder whether he enjoys the game.
