Richard Bartlett, rhp
Kamiakin HS; Kennewick, Wash.

He played in the shadows of teammate Jason Smith but has actually moved past Smith as a prospect, winning his first seven decisions this year and compiling a 0.54 ERA. In addition to playing for the Kamiakin High team that has been ranked in the top 10 in the nation this year, Bartlett and Smith were teammates on the Kennewick American Legion team that finished second in the Legion World Series last summer. The 6-foot-3, 195-pound Bartlett throws harder--up to 93 mph with a lot of late life--and combines velocity with an above-average curve and straight change. Scouts praise his work ethic. He has committed to Gonzaga.
