With the 2002 draft approaching, we take a look at four third basemen from the high school draft class of 1999 to show just how unpredictable this process can be.

Two went on to sign professionally, with one becoming an unqualified success (Hank Blalock) and the other (Corey Myers) struggling to live up to expectations.

The other two went on to college, with one (Jeff Baker) likely to become a first-round pick and the other (Pat Osborn) experiencing a less successful college career.
