6 1407 San Francisco Giants Michael Ness RHP Duke N.C.
7 1408 Atlanta Braves Colby Holmes RHP Conway (S.C.) HS S.C.
Righthander Colby Holmes might not have the size to go pro now, but should be a good college pitcher with an 88-91 mph fastball and a curveball that at times grades as plus.
8 1409 Cincinnati Reds Jason Hampton RHP Rocklin (Calif.) HS Calif.
9 1410 Detroit Tigers Kevin Chambers LHP Capistrano Valley HS, Mission Viejo, Calif. Calif.
10 1411 Colorado Rockies Sterling Monfort 1B Eaton (Colo.) HS Colo.

13 1414 Texas Rangers Tyler Higgins RHP Mount Pleasant (Mich.) HS Mich.
14 1415 Cleveland Indians Christian Powell RHP Greenwood (S.C.) HS S.C.
Some compare righthander Christian Powell to Lyles, though Lyles is probably more projectable. Powell has committed to College of Charleston. He spins an average curveball to go with a solid changeup and 89-91 mph fastball. He also throws strikes and has solid athleticism, with some quarterback play in his past.

26 1427 Philadelphia Phillies Ryan Bollinger 1B Magic City HS, Minot, N.D. N.D.
Georgia isn't known for its junior-college programs, but Middle Georgia and Young Harris consistently produce draft picks and good college players, with Orioles outfielder Nick Markakis (Young Harris) the best recent example. This year's top junior-college talents in the state are all pitchers, including Darton JC righthander Tony Whitenton, who ran his fastball up to 94 mph at times this spring, sitting in the 88-91 mph range. He also flashed a solid to plus slider that had power and some depth.
27 1428 Boston Red Sox Jordan Sallis 2B Arkansas-Fort Smith JC Ark.
28 1429 Tampa Bay Rays Jason Patton OF Kent State Ohio
29 1430 Chicago Cubs Joe Jocketty 3B Watkins HS, St. Louis Mo.
