The All-Star Futures Game is a showcase for the best prospects in the minor leagues. Since its inception in 1999, Baseball America and Major League Baseball have the selected the game’s participants, more than 50 of whom have gone on to play in the majors.
Baseball America produces the game’s program, and this year it includes 2002 Donruss Studio cards. The cards feature players such as Ichiro, Barry Zito, Adam Dunn, Brian Mallette, Lance Berkman, Sammy Sosa and Alfonso Soriano.
“We’re thrilled to work with Baseball America, Major League Baseball and the Major League Baseball Players Association on such a worthwhile endeavor to honor our nation’s pastime,” Donruss spokesman Tracy Hackler said.
