It has been a year since Baseball America unveiled its new website (www.baseballamerica.com) and we want to give our valued readers some tips on how best to navigate the site.
You might remember that our old site had sections, which have been replaced by header links, such as “Home,” or “College,” or “Draft.” The Prospects section has been merged into Minors.
Blog Section → Redesign section
Business → Minors
College → College
Draft → Draft
High School → High School
Prospects → Minors
The original site had dropdown menus, but those have been replaced by tags for subcategories. For example, if you’re looking for an archive of what we’ve written about Jeffrey Hammonds, you can search by baseballamerica.com/t/Jeffrey/hammonds
To search for a particular team’s stories, go to http://www.baseballamerica.com/t/atlanta-braves/feed/
Searching the site
We added a search box at the top of baseballamerica.com, where you can search for articles. To narrow your search, we recommend using search terms with quotes, such as “Mike Roberts” for example, for the former UNC coach.
There is also a player search box on the right rail that leads to player cards in our stats database.
If you want RSS Feeds on the new site, we have those:
By Search Term
Example (One Word): http://www.baseballamerica.com/search/soap/feed
Example (Multiple Words): http://www.baseballamerica.com/search/peanut+butter/feed
Tag archives can be narrowed by category as well
Example (all Gerrit Cole articles): http://www.baseballamerica.com/t/gerrit-cole/
Example (all Gerrit Cole articles in Draft category) : http://www.baseballamerica.com/draft/t/gerrit-cole/
Additionally, the quick clicks are now updated as often as weekly with the most timely of links available to you quickly.
There is also a sitemap that will allow you to find many of our index pages as well as follow our writers.
Readers can also take our site redesign survey now. You will be automatically entered into a drawing for your choice of a one-year subscription to the print magazine or digital edition and your choice of one (1) of the following books: 2014 Directory (Paperback), 2014 Almanac (Paperback), 2014 Prospect Handbook, or 2014 Hall of Fame Almanac.
