USA Invites Nine More To Trials

USA Baseball invited nine more players to its college national team trials, bring the total number of invitees to 28. The trials will be June 20-26 in Durham, N.C., and the 20-man team will be selected from a pool of 36 players June 27.

Team USA will make two trips to the Far East, first for the 33rd annual Japan Series and then to Taiwan for the second edition of the World University Championships from July 22-Aug. 1. Cuba defeated Team USA to win the gold medal at the last University Championships, held in 2002 in Italy.
