Short-Season Dish: New York-Penn All-Star Game Tonight

Prospect Of The Day

With the New York-Penn League in its All-Star break and with only six teams in action in the Northwest League, the POTD comes from a small pool. Yet, Salem-Keizer righthander Mike Loree (Giants) returns to POTD status. Over a month removed from a stretch where he allowed one baserunner in 20 innings, Loree allowed an unearned run on three hits, walked one and struck out six against Spokane (Rangers).

Prospect Nuggets

Spokane righthander Wilfredo Boscan did not start against Salem-Keizer. . . Everett third baseman Jharmidy DeJesus (Mariners) showed signs of snapping out of his slump with a 2-for-4 day with a double and an RBI. . . Eugene center fielder Blake Tekotte (Padres) hit a solo home run, his sixth of the year, in five times up at the plate. . . Boise third baseman Josh Vitters (Cubs) went 1-for-5 with a double and is fourth in the league in hitting.

What To Watch For Today
