READING, Pa.—Yankees prospect Peter O’Brien, a catcher and outfielder by trade, entered Wednesday night tied with Rangers slugger Joey Gallo for the minor league lead in home runs. That tie didn’t last long. In his second at-bat of the night, against Reading lefthander Hoby Milner, O’Brien swatted a go-ahead grand slam.
Baseball America was on hand for the blast, but not quite where you’d expect. Our Josh Norris was in the middle of an in-game interview when the slam happened, and decided to film from the booth when O’Brien came up. This means the viewer not only gets the video of the slam (check the upper left corner for the ball flying over everything), but also the raw radio call from Thunder broadcaster Adam Giardino.
With that in mind, feel free to look, listen and enjoy.
