Rookie Dish: Soto Has No More Power Problems

Prospect of the Day

Neftali Soto (Reds) was rated the 8th best prospect in the Gulf Cost League last year, but had only two home runs in 40 games. This came as somewhat of surprise, considering Soto broke Juan Gonzalez’ youth home run record in Puerto Rico. Wednesday night, Soto matched his GCL home run total in one game. The Billings third baseman went 3-5 with two home runs in Monday’s win. His three run shot in the sixth put the game out of reach, as Billings cruised to a 10-3 victory.
