Rookie Dish: Delmonico’s Extra-Base Bonanza

Prospect Of The Day

Prior to the June draft, scouts questioned Tony Delmonico’s power potential. Over the weekend, he answered his critics resoundingly. He hit home runs in both Friday’s and Saturday’s games, and then went 3-for-5 with three doubles, two runs and four RBIs yesterday for Ogden (Dodgers). Predictably, his slugging percentage skyrocketed in the process, climbing from .621 to .736 over the three-day stretch as he helped the Raptors extend their winning streak to eight games.
