Palmisano Out For First Half

Brewers catcher Lou Palmisano, Milwaukee’s third-round pick (69th overall) in 2003, will miss the first half of the season to have surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee.

Palmisano, 25, hit .256/.369/.419 in 421 plate appearances last year with Double-A Huntsville. Last season was Palmisano’s second season in the Southern League; he struggled to a .241/.334/.338 line in 393 plate appearances with the Stars in 2006.
