Minor League Umps Wait Years For Their Big Call

Hope springs eternal in spring training, and it's a special moment in every player's career when he finds out he has made the big league club for the first time. Most of these players have labored in the minor leagues for three or four seasons, and making the leap to the major leagues represents reaching the apex of their vocation. So imagine what the call to the big leagues would feel like if you had labored in the minors for eight, 10 or even 15 years.
