marlins-900x635HE’S WHERE? When the Marlins needed a pitcher after Nate Eovaldi and Henderson Alvarez hit the disabled list, they didn’t call upon lefthander Brad Hand or righthander Jacob Turner, both of whom have big league experience. Instead, they went with top prospect, righthander Jose Fernandez. Fernandez is Cuban, so maybe he’ll draw some interest back to the ballpark, and has enough stuff to hold his own, but hasn’t pitched above high Class A, and got all of two innings in big league spring training.

WHO’S MISSING: The Marlins’ Double-A affiliate will have a stellar outfield . . . eventually. The Jacksonville Suns will start the season, however, with outfielders Christian Yelich, Jake Marisnick and Marcell Ozuna on the disabled list. Yelich has a bruised left heel, Marisnick broke his left hand, and Ozuna broke his left wrist.

GO SEE: Jacksonville . . . but wait about a month.
