Talk of Indians righthander Adam Miller beginning the year in the Cleveland bullpen ended today when the Indians optioned their top prospect to Triple-A Buffalo.
Miller pitched just 65 1/3 innings last year at Buffalo due to elbow and finger injuries, finishing with 68 strikeouts, 21 walks and a 4.84 ERA. The Indians also reassigned lefthander Chuck Lofgren, their No. 2 prospect, to minor league camp. If Miller stays healthy–a hypothetical that has been an issue for him for a few years–he should join the big league club at some point this season. Lofgren could also make his big league debut later in the year.
