Low A Dish: Suttle Powers RiverDogs

South Atlantic League

Prospect Of The Day

We’ll go a little off the board today and give POTD honors to Charleston (Yankees) third baseman Bradley Suttle. He’s one of the league’s better defenders over at the hot corner, but Suttle’s not having a bad year at the plate either with a line of .288/.356/.498 in 271 at-bats. He had a huge night yesterday in Charleston’s 15-0 rout of Greenville (Red Sox), going 3-for-5 with a triple, a home run and two RBIs.

Prospect Nuggets

Rome (Braves) right fielder Jason Heyward went 2-for-4 with his 10th home run. It was just his second home run in his last 29 games, but Heyward has now turned in three straight multi-hit games and has upped his line back to .319/.381/.474 … Savannah (Mets) catcher Francisco Pena went 2-for-4 with a double as the Sand Gnats dropped a 4-1 decision to Augusta (Giants) … Greensboro (Marlins) third baseman Matt Dominguez went 2-for-5 with a double and three RBIs.

What To Watch For Today

Matchup of the night is in Greenville, where the Drive will try to erase the memory of last night’s debacle as they send righthander Felix Doubront (12-6, 3.22) to the mound against Charleston righthander Dellin Betances (6-3, 3.74) … Righthander Bryan Morris is expected to make his debut for the Pirates organization when Hickory (Pirates) takes on Rome tonight at 7:00 EDT.

Midwest League

The MWL had Monday off.

What To Watch For Today

West Michigan (Tigers) lefthander Jonathan Kibler (11-4, 1.78), the MWL’s ERA leader, will take the mound tonight as the Whitecaps visit Great Lakes (Dodgers).
