Danny Duffy dominated again, Cole Rohrbough and Phillippe Aumont had rough nights, and Ben Revere had another three hits.

South Atlantic League

Prospect Of The Day

Monday was a pretty slow day in terms of standout performances by prospects in the Sally League. Nevertheless, Greensboro (Marlins) left fielder Tom Hickman gets today’s POTD award after going 3-for-4 with three RBIs in a 7-5 win over Lexington (Astros). Hickman hit a two-run double in the third and added an RBI single in the seventh. The 20-year-old Hickman turned in his fourth multi-hit game in the last eight, although his line still stands at only .228/.365/.395.

Prospect Nuggets

Hitting in front of Hickman in the Greensboro order was third baseman Matt Dominguez, who went 2-for-4 and scored a pair of runs … Charleston (Yankees) shortstop Carmen Angelini went 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored against Rome (Braves) … Rome was able to overcome a rough outing by Cole Rohrbough (3.0 IP, 5 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 3 BB, 4 SO) by coming from behind to beat the RiverDogs 8-7. Rohrbough struck out the side in the top of the first, but gave up three runs in each of the next two frames before being removed. The winning run in that game scored on a walk-off suicide squeeze, when Rome’s Adam Coe laid down a bunt while Yohan Silva sprinted home.

What To Watch For Today

There will be a pair of doubleheaders tonight. Lake County (Indians) will host a twin-bill with Delmarva (Orioles), while Hagerstown (Nationals) will do likewise against Lakewood (Phillies).

Midwest League

Prospect Of The Day

Burlington (Royals) lefthander Danny Duffy turned in another strong outing. Duffy struck out eight in five innings and allowed only two unearned runs on two hits against Wisconsin (Mariners), evening his record at 2-2. Duffy retired the side in order in four of the five innings he pitched, while all the damage against him was done in the second. After giving up 11 earned runs in 11 2/3 innings over his first three starts, Duffy hasn’t allowed an earned run in his last two outings, a span of 10 2/3 innings. He sports a 29-8 K-BB ratio through 22 1/3 innings on the season.

Prospect Nuggets

Duffy was matched up with Wisconsin’s hard-throwing righthander Phillippe Aumont, but Aumont was burned for six runs on seven hits over just 1 2/3 innings. He also walked two, struck out two and took the loss … South Bend (Diamondbacks) righthander Jarrod Parker (5.0 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 0 BB, 2 SO) picked up his fifth win of the season … Clinton’s (Rangers) Neftali Feliz fanned nine in five innings against Kane County (Athletics). He allowed one run on four hits, with two walks. However, he received no decision when the Cougars rallied late to notch a 4-3 win, keeping their hopes alive for catching Clinton for the MWL West’s first-half crown … Beloit (Twins) center fielder Ben Revere went 3-for-4 with a stolen base, his 20th, in a 6-5 win over Cedar Rapids (Angels). Revere raised his line back up to .416/.467/.566 in 166 at-bats.

What To Watch For Today

Dayton (Reds) and Fort Wayne (Padres) will play a doubleheader … West Michigan (Tigers) righthander Brandon Hamilton (0-4, 4.74) is scheduled to take the mound tonight against Lansing (Blue Jays) at 7:00 EDT.
