High A Dish: Snyder Continues To Roll

California League

Prospect Of The Day

While big hitters in the Texas organization have been seeing a lot of success and promotions, Bakersfield (Rangers) third baseman Johnny Whittleman still has some work to do. But last night it seemed like everything was working for him. He was 3-for-3 in a 6-2 win over Stockton (Athletics) with three doubles, three runs and an RBI.

Prospect Nuggets

Lancaster (Red Sox) outfielder Josh Reddick had a perfect night, going 4-for-4 with a double and run scored…Inland Empire (Dodgers) lefthander James Adkins wasn’t so perfect. He lasted just one inning, allowing nine runs (eight earned) on seven hits and two walks. He struck out one and dropped to 5-7, 5.38…Bakersfield righthander Omar Poveda was a Not Hot candidate for today’s Hot Sheet, until last night. He went six innings allowing just one run on five hits and a walk while striking out five…High Desert (Mariners) shortstop Carlos Triunfel was 3-for-5 with a double, home run and three RBIs, but also committed his 18th error.
What To Watch For Today

Two prospects will take the hill today. Righthander Sean O’Sullivan will pitch for Rancho Cucamonga (Angels) against High Desert while righthander Tim Alderson will try to lead San Jose (Giants) past Visalia (Diamondbacks).

Carolina League

Prospect Of The Day

Frederick (Orioles) first baseman Brandon Snyder simply can’t be stopped. This his second POTD this week and he’s a strong candidate for the newest Hot Sheet edition. Last night, in an 8-4 win over Winston-Salem (White Sox), he went 2-for-4 with his seventh home run, two doubles and three RBIs.

Prospect Nuggets

Kinston (Indians) third baseman Jared Goedert was 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and four RBIs in the second game of a doubleheader…Teammate and outfielder Nick Weglarz also contributed in the second game, going 2-for-4 with a run scored…It was a night of fours for Frederick righthander Brandon Erbe. He lasted four innings, allowing four runs on four hits while striking out four.

What To Watch For Today

Lynchburg (Pirates) lefthander Daniel Moskos (7-4, 5.08) will take the hill against Kinston.

Florida State League

Prospect Of The Day

Jupiter (Marlins) lefthander Sean West evened up his record at 3-3 after tossing seven innings and allowing just one run on three hits and a walk. He also struck out five and lowered his ERA to 3.12.

Prospect Nuggets

St. Lucie (Mets) and Tampa (Yankees) finally got their games in, albeit they started at noon to avoid any weather. St. Lucie shortstop Ruben Tejada is continuing to show signs of improvement. He went 2-for-4 with a double and stolen base…Tampa lefthander Michael Dunn got a no decision after going six innings, allowing one run on three hits. He walked five and struck out five…Clearwater (Phillies) second baseman Adrian Cardenas went 2-for-4 with a run scored and RBI while his teammate, outfielder Quintin Berry, went 2-for-5 with a run scored and his 30th stolen base.

What To Watch For Today

Two righthanders looking to lower their ERAs will face off. Jupiter’s Jeff Allison (5-6, 4.56) will go up against Fort Myers’ (Twins) Deolis Guerra (8-4, 4.58).
