California League

Prospect Of The Day

Rancho Cucamonga (Angels) DH Hank Conger had this one wrapped up before most of the league even played. In a 6-1 win over High Desert (Mariners) Conger was responsible for five of the runs as he went 3-for-4 with three home runs. He went deep with a two-run shot in the fourth inning, a a solo shot in the sixth and another two-run shot in the eighth.

Prospect Nuggets

Inland Empire (Dodgers) first baseman Austin Gallagher also had fairly big night, going 2-for-4 with a double and home run…Stockton’s (Athletics) Chris Carter once again got the start at third base and went 2-for-4 with his 27th home run and a couple of RBIs…Inland Empire lefthander James Adkins is still trying to work out of a pitching slump. He lasted four innings last night, allowing five runs (two earned) on six hits and three walks while striking out five.
What To Watch For Today

San Jose (Giants) righthander Kevin Pucetas will take the hill for his first start since appearing in the Futures Game. He is 7-0, 2.52 and will face Lancaster (Red Sox).

Carolina League

There was only one game scheduled yesterday. Frederick (Orioles) beat Lynchburg (Pirates) in a slugfest, 16-11. The Keys pounded out 19 hits. Eight starters had at least one hit while seven had two or more. First baseman Brandon Snyder continued his tear, going 3-for-6 with three RBIs and a run scored. Lefthander Daniel Moskos took the loss after allowing nine runs on seven hits over 3 1/3. He walked four and struck out two.

Florida State League

Prospect Of The Day

Even when he gets just one hit, Jupiter (Marlins) first baseman Logan Morrison does a lot of damage. He was 1-for-3 with a three-run home run, helping the Hammerheads to a 7-6 victory. It was his ninth home run of the season.

Prospect Nuggets

Daytona (Cubs) shortstop Darwin Barney was 2-for-4 with his third home run of the season…Sarasota’s (Reds) Todd Frazier was 1-for-3 with a run scored in his start at third base…Tampa (Yankees) third baseman Mitch Hilligoss was 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored in the loss to Jupiter.

What To Watch For Today

Two games were postponed yesterday so there will be two doubleheaders today. St. Lucie (Mets) vs. Lakeland (Tigers) and Clearwater (Phillies) vs. Brevard County (Brewers).
