Hellickson Keeps Adding Pitches

Using a repertoire consisting of a four-seam fastball, changeup and curveball, Rays righthander Jeremy Hellickson dominated hitters last season. Why then, did Hellickson feel the need to add two pitches—a two-seam fastball and a cutter—to his already sterling offerings? Because he knows that finding success at the major league level is a lot different than shutting down Triple-A lineups.
