PACIFIC COAST LEAGUE

Prospect Of The Day
Chris Davis went 3-for-4 with a walk, a homer and a double yesterday, bringing him to .323/.400/.597 in 18 games sis his late-May promotion to Oklahoma (Rangers).

Prospect Nuggets
I get a lot of e-mail asking me what’s wrong with Colby Rasmus. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with him. Yes, he’s hitting just .234/.332/.375 in 289 plate appearances, but he’s in a tough park for hitters relative to the rest of the PCL and he’s still just 21 years old. This guy might be getting ready for the College World Series had he gone to school. Yesterday Rasmus went 2-for-4, bringing his June numbers to .333/.429/.524 in 49 PAs . . . Colorado Springs (Rockies) lefthander Franklin Morales had a decent start (7 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 3 SO, 1 HR) at Fresno . . . Portland (Padres) left fielder Chase Headley reached base three times, going 1-for-3 with two walks and home run No. 12 on the year . . . Nick Adenhart has struggled since making his big league debut on short rest. Those struggles continued yesterday at Tacoma for the Salt Lake (Angels) righthander: 2.1 IP, 7 H, 7 R, 7 ER, 5 BB, 3 SO, 2 HR.

Prospect Nuggets
Indianapolis (Pirates) center fielder Andrew McCutchen went 1-for-5 with a couple of strikeouts, while third baseman Neil Walker went 0-for-5 and left seven men on base . . . Brent Lillibridge went 0-for-5, knocking the Richmond (Braves) shortstop’s numbers down to a disappointing .182/.253.227 in 176 at-bats with a 15-50 BB-K mark.
