The Orioles didn't want to go to arbitration with Rodrigo Lopez and the Rockies sought another veteran starting pitcher. So the teams turned a trade on Friday, with Colorado picking up Lopez in exchange for Double-A righthanded relievers Jim Miller and Jason Burch.

Johnson Returns To Diamondbacks

The Deal After two underwhelming seasons in the Bronx, Randy Johnson returned to the Diamondbacks on Tuesday. The Yankees sent him back in exchange for Luis Vizcaino and three minor leaguers: righthanders Ross Ohlendorf and Steven Jackson, and shortstop Alberto Gonzalez. New York also will pay $2 million of Johnson's 2007 salary.

Reds Add Conine To Bench

They got their man Thursday in Jeff Conine, who came over from the Phillies in exchange for a pair of minor leaguers, outfielder Javon Moran and third baseman Brad Key.
