For the Nationals this spring, it's not all that unusual to see the farm director throwing batting practice. Bobby Williams, the organization's manager in the short-season New York-Penn League and then the low Class A South Atlantic League over the past two years, accepted a new job in early March. His official title is director of player development, and Mark Scialabba takes over as assistant director of player development after serving as an assistant in the baseball operations department.
