Major League Baseball has announced the schedule for first workout dates for all 30 teams, giving hope to parts of the country that days ago were caught in the icy grip of a polar vortex.

Pitchers and catchers, of course, typically report about a week ahead of full squads.

The Dodgers and Diamondbacks are reporting early—about a month from now—to give them time to prepare to open the major league season March 22 in Australia.

The Diamondbacks’ pitchers and catchers will report Feb. 6, with first workouts set for the next day.

Spring training games begin Feb. 25 with the Tigers playing host to Florida Southern College in Lakeland, while the Yankees face Florida State in Tampa.

Cactus League games will begin on Feb. 26 with three games, including the Dodgers facing Arizona in a preview of Opening Series Sydney 2014.

The regular season opening day for the rest of the teams is March 30.
