Because of the different rules of the state high school associations that govern the dates and times when participating teams can play, schedules for the National High School Invitational can’t be determined until the end of play each day. Specifically, Georgia schools can’t play during regular school hours, and Oklahoma and Texas schools can’t play on Wednesdays. That’s why Jenks and The Woodlands play their first-round matchup Thursday morning. Also, at the coaches’ request, teams from the same state will not be matched up in consolation games.
Here’s the schedule for Thursday. All games are played at the USA Baseball National Training Center in Cary, N.C. For schedule updates, specifically in the case of bad weather, follow @USABEvents on Twitter.
