U.S. Juniors Settle For Silver
Cuba has long been the beast of international baseball. But 2006 was shaping up as an all-American year, as USA Baseball won four gold medals—including two on Cuban soil this summer—leading to the final international competition of the year, the IBAF World Junior Championship in Sancti Spiritus, Cuba. And even though Team USA once again successfully dispatched of the host country's tournament entry, ousting Cuba 4-0 Sunday in the quarterfinals, Cuba haunted the U.S. after all.
