Major League Baseball announced today that it has partnered with the Puerto Rico Scouts Association to host the Torneo de Exelencia Victor Pellot—the island’s annual high school tournament that takes place this year from April 29-May 4 at the Sola Morales Stadium in Caguas, P.R. Seven teams will play in the event, which featured Carlos Correa last year.
“We are excited to sponsor the Torneo de Exelencia in partnership with the Puerto Rico Scouts Association,” Kim Ng, senior vice president of baseball operations for Major League Baseball, said in a press release. “This tournament will bring together some of Puerto Rico’s most promising prospects, and we look forward to giving these players an opportunity to be seen by MLB and club officials.”
