The Blue Jays have signed their top pick, Stone HS (Wiggins, Miss.) outfielder D.J. Davis, for a bonus of $1.7 million. He's the eighth first-rounder to sign within a week of getting drafted. The assigned value for his No. 17 overall selection is $2 million.
Perhaps the fastest player in the draft, Davis profiles as a center fielder and basestealer. He's not just a slappy hitter and shows the ability to drive some balls into the gaps. He had committed to Meridian (Miss.) CC.
