Lefthander David Price was the first overall pick, to the Devil Rays, and righthander Casey Weathers went seven picks later, to the Rockies. They became the sixth set of college teammates to go in the top 10 picks in the same draft. Here are the others:
–Bob Horner (1st, Braves) and Hubie Brooks (3rd, Mets), 1978, Arizona State
–Monty Fariss (6th, Rangers) and Robin Ventura (10th, White Sox), 1988, Oklahoma State
–Kris Benson (1st, Pirates) and Billy Koch (4th, Blue Jays), 1996, Clemson
–Eric Munson (3rd, Tigers) and Barry Zito (9th, Athletics), 1999, Southern California
–Philip Humber (3rd, Mets), Jeff Niemann (4th, Devil Rays) and Wade Townsend (8th, Orioles), 2004, Rice
