2016 State Draft Report: Washington

CROP RATING
updated_state_rating_three_star Solid, not spectacular
Rating compares this year’s group to what a state typically produces, not to other states

The Washington class in 2016 has no one on the order of Austin Rei, who was grabbed by the Red Sox in the third round a year ago, but it does have more depth than 2015. Two-sport star Christian Jones is committed to the Huskies and brings some comparisons to Ryan Howard.

The depth of the high school class is particularly notable, with scrappy 18U star Morgan McCullough and bat-first Washington commit Austin Shenton leading the way.
