LHP Brian Johnson (6.1 IP, 5 H, 1 ER) was solid in a no-decision Saturday, and So. 1B Preston Tucker (2-for-4, 2B, HR, 3 RBI) hit a two-run double to highlight Florida’s four-run seventh. Fr. RHP Hudson Randall (5.1 IP, 4 H, 1 ER) turned in another decent start in a no-decision Sunday, and Maddox broke a 1-1 tie with a three-run homer in the eighth. Maddox now leads the Gators with six homers and 27 RBIs, and he is hitting .367/.391/.671 on the season.

Coastal tied that one with three runs in the eighth, then won it on So. 2B Steve Davis’ two-run double in the ninth. So. DH Tommy La Stella (4-for-6, 7 RBI) completed the cycle Saturday by hitting a grand slam in the ninth, and So. SS Taylor Motter (4-for-7, 5 RBIs) added two homers of his own in a blowout.

Fr. 2B Anthony Gomez had three hits in a losing effort Saturday, as the Tide chased Jr. RHP Taylor Hill (3.2 IP, 8 H, 4 ER) in the fourth. Gomez had three more hits Sunday in support of So. RHP Jack Armstrong (6.1 IP, 8 H, 4 R, 1 ER).

After winning a midweek game against rival Texas, the Owls dropped their second West Coast road series of the season to San Diego, though they salvaged Sunday’s finale. So. LHP Taylor Wall (4.2 IP, 6 H, 6 R, 5 ER) dropped to 0-4, 5.97 in Friday’s loss. Jr. RHP Boogie Anagnostou (6 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 1 ER) was decent in a no-decision Saturday, but San Diego rallied from behind to force extra innings and won it in the 10th. Rice scored four in the top of the ninth to win Sunday’s back-and-forth affair. So. 3B Anthony Rendon homered Saturday and Sunday, giving him a team-best nine long balls on the season.

LHP Kevin Brandt (5.1 IP, 5 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 7 K) took the loss in Friday’s slugfest. So. C Zach Wright (3-for-3, 2 HR, 4 RBI) led an 11-hit attack Saturday in support of Jr. RHP Seth Maness (7.2 IP, 8 H, 4 ER, 1 BB, 8 K). Jr. SS Dustin Harrington (6-for-6, 5 R, 6 RBI, 2 HR) went bonkers in Sunday’s blowout, leading ECU’s season-high 19-hit onslaught. So. RHP Mike Wright (5.1 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 8 K) picked up the win in his third career start in that one.

Fr. LHP Taylor Rogers (7.1 IP, 8 H, 5 ER) took his first career loss Saturday. Kentucky’s bats busted out Sunday, led by So. DH Braden Kapteyn (3-for-5, 2 HR, 6 RBI), and So. RHP Alex Meyer (6.2 IP, 7 H, 3 ER, 4 BB, 10 K) improved to 4-2.

Jr. RHP Matt Harvey (7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 4 BB, 11 K) was overpowering in a no-decision Friday, but the UNC bullpen could not hold a 3-0 lead after seven innings. Jr. C Jesse Wierzbicki (2-for-4, 3 RBI) led the offense Saturday, and Fr. RHP Chris Munnelly (3.1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 0 ER) picked up the win in relief of Jr. RHP Colin Bates (3.2 IP, 5 H, 2 ER, 5 BB, 5 K). Jr. RHP Patrick Johnson (5 IP, 7 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 6 K) was solid in a no-decision Sunday, as the Seminoles again rallied from behind with four runs in the final two frames.
