Hurricanes Push Series to Game Three

CORAL GABLES, Fla.–Miami walked its way to a 14-10 victory over Arizona in the Coral Gables super-regional on Sunday night. Patient at the plate, the Hurricane hitters drew 16 walks in the nine-inning game, a record for both teams. Miami right fielder Dennis Raben tied an NCAA record by walking six times. The Hurricanes also blasted four home runs in a contest that lasted almost four and a half hours. Eight total pitchers were used in the contest as Miami righthander David Gutierrez earned the win with four innings of relief, and Arizona righty Mike Colla took the loss in relief.

The Miami win evens the series with Arizona at a game apiece, setting up a rubber game on Sunday that will determine which team advances to the College World Series next week.
