• The Southeastern Conference has 10 teams, the most ever for a single conference, with Florida and Louisiana State as national seeds from the conference.

• Indiana is a national seed, the first time a Big Ten Conference team has achieved that milestone.

• First-time tournament teams are Kennesaw State of the Atlantic Sun Conference and Sacramento State of the Western Athletic Conference. Thirty-two teams that were in the field last year return this year.

• Miami is in the field for the 42nd consecutive year, extending its own record. Florida State is making its 37th straight appearance, second all-time. Other notable streaks: Cal State Fullerton (23), Rice (20) and South Carolina (15).
