Virginia remained at No. 1 in the Baseball America’s Top 25 for the second week in a row following a series win over North Carolina.
Cal Poly moved up to No. 2 after a 4-0 week that included sweeping embattled Cal State Fullerton, while Louisiana-Lafayette dropped to No. 3 following a series win at Texas-Arlington. Florida State, which won a weekend series at Wake Forest, and Oregon State, which was idle, round out the top five.
There was some change in the back half of the top 10 as Florida leapfrogged up to No. 6 after sweeping Georgia. Washington and Alabama remained at No. 7 and No. 8, respectively, while LSU moved up three spots to No. 9 and Texas fell four places to No. 10 after getting swept at home by Texas Christian.
UC Santa Barbara tumbled from No. 17 out of the Top 25 after losing its third weekend series in the last four weeks. Vanderbilt was the other big dropper, falling seven spots to No. 25 after losing its third straight weekend series, and its fourth in the last five weeks. UNLV (20th) and Georgia Tech (25th) dropped out, while Oklahoma State, Texas Christian and Arkansas moved in.
