N.C.–The top three teams remained the same in Baseball America’s
weekly Top 25 college baseball rankings, as Rice, Cal State Fullerton and Clemson went 3-0 in their regionals.
Texas and Nebraska tumbled out of the Top 10 with early exits from the regionals played at their home parks. Stanford won the Austin Regional and moved into the rankings at No. 17. No. 13 Miami took the Lincoln Regional without even having to face the top-seeded Cornhuskers, who were eliminated in two games.
No. 12 College of Charleston jumped up from 24th after sweeping through the Lexington Regional with wins against Kentucky, which slipped to No. 20.
No. 15 South Carolina, No. 18 Missouri and No. 19 Oral Roberts all entered the rankings after winning regionals. Missouri, ranked 10th in the preseason, struggled for most of the season before finishing with a flourish and becoming the first No. 4 seed to win a regional in the 64-team era, which began in 1999.
