College Draft Prospects Stat Roundup: Week 8

• Memphis lefthander Sam Moll gave up one run on four hits with two walks and 11 strikeouts against Central Florida. Moll got the win, improving to 5-2 on the season. His opponent wasn’t as sharp, results-wise. Central Florida righthander Ben Lively went eight innings, giving up two runs on six hits, with two walks and five strikeouts. Both of Lively’s run came as the result of wild pitches, and he got the loss to drop to 5-3 on the season.

• Marshall righthander Aaron Blair continues to show why he’s likely to be a Top 50 pick in June. Against Houston this weekend, Blair gave up just two hits over eight shutout innings, with one walk and 11 strikeouts. On the season, he is now 5-1, 2.11 with 47 strikeouts and 15 walks over 43 innings.

• Washington righthander Austin Voth gave up just one hit over eight shutout innings against Pepperdine. He walked four and struck out 10. Voth is one of the top strikeout pitchers in the country this season. He didn’t get a decision against Pepperdine, and is 3-4, 3.00 on the season with 62 strikeouts and 19 walks over 54 innings.

• Cal State Fullerton outfielder/righthander Michael Lorenzen went 2-for-13 on the weekend with a home run against UC Davis. He is hitting .361/.437/.615 on the year, but most scouts still prefer him as a pitcher. His fastball has been up to 98 mph this spring, and he also recorded two saves for the Titans. On the year, he is 0-0, 1.69 with 11 saves, nine strikeouts and two walks over 11 innings.

• Louisiana State second baseman JaCoby Jones finally had a big weekend, going 8-for-13 with three doubles, a home run, and two stolen bases against Kentucky. He is still hitting just .239/.370/.376 on the season.

• Oregon first baseman Ryon Healy went 7-for-16 with two doubles against Arizona State. Healy is leading the Ducks’ offense by hitting .357/.406/.579 with 13 doubles and five home runs on the season.
