Tennessee center fielder Julio Borbon’s slide is over. The Rangers grabbed the first-team preseason All-American with the fifth pick of the supplemental round (35th overall). Borbon is an exceptional athlete who was sidelined early in the year with a fractured ankle suffered while sliding into second base in practice. His best tool is his speed, and he showed that he is fully recovered from his broken ankle by stealing 10 bases in 13 attempts once he returned to action. In a draft very light on quality college bats, and especially outfielders, Borbon could be a steal in the supplemental round.
