2013 College All-America Teams

San Diego’s Kris Bryant, the 2013 College Player of the Year, is the only player to repeat as a first-team All-American in 2013. Two other members of last year’s first team, Gonzaga’s Marco Gonzales and Missouri State’s Nick Petree, earn spots on this year’s second and third teams, respectively. Stanford’s Mark Appel repeats as a second-teamer, while New Mexico’s D.J. Peterson moves from last year’s second team to this year’s first team.

Cal State Fullerton and Louisiana State are the only teams to place multiple players on the 2013 first team. The Titans and Vanderbilt had three All-Americans, while Oklahoma, Georgia Tech, North Carolina State, Oregon State, Indiana and Samford each produced a pair.

The first team features three freshmen: LSU’s Alex Bregman, Cal State Fullerton’s Thomas Eshelman and Oregon State’s Andrew Moore. Eshelman’s rotation mate, Justin Garza, is the only other freshman to make any of the three teams.
The Southeastern Conference leads all leagues with five first-teamers and 10 All-Americans in all, followed by the Atlantic Coast Conference (three first-teamers, six total).

Bryant and North Carolina’s Colin Moran are the only preseason first-teamers to make the postseason first team. Fourteen preseason All-Americans (voted on by major league scouting directors) cracked the three postseason teams, up slightly from 2012 (11) and 2011 (12).
