Mets’ Calvin Ziegler Set For Tommy John Surgery

0

Mets righthander Calvin Ziegler will have Tommy John surgery and miss the rest of the 2024 season. Drafted out of high school in the second round in 2021, he has shown bat-missing stuff as a pro, including a nine-strikeout start for High-A Brooklyn this season. Ziegler has lost mount time in each of his three pro seasons. In 2022 he missed more than a month to workload restrictions and general soreness, while in 2023 he had bone chips removed from his elbow in spring training and then tore his quad while rehabbing.
