Kingsport shortstop Wilmer Flores (Mets) went 3-for-4 last night with his 12th double of the season. Having just turned 17 earlier this month, Flores is having a fantastic pro debut, with a line of .332/.374/.523. Ranked as the Mets’ 17th-best prospect before the season, Flores will surely be near the top of their list the next time around.

Greenville’s pitching held Pulaski (Mariners) to just one hit. Starter Jordan Lyles (Astros) threw five innings, and gave up the hit, but did not walk anyone and struck out eight. Reliever Jeiler Castillo (Astros) threw three no-hit innings and Italian reliever Andrea Lucati (Astros) finished the game by striking out the side. . . Princeton shortstop Tim Beckham (Rays) went 1-for-4 with two runs scored. . . Johnson City righthander Scott McGregor was the Cardinals’ 15th-round pick out of Memphis this season and hasn’t given up a run since July 18. Last night he threw five more scoreless innings, making his ERA over 27 innings in the Appalachian League this year just 0.33. . . AZL Padres left fielder Jaff Decker continues his assault on professional pitching. Last night, Decker blasted his fourth home run of the season and is now hitting .341/.528/.519 on the season. . . Casper catcher Wilin Rosario (Rockies) is repeating the Pionner League, but has been a completely different hitter. Last year, as an 18-year-old, Rosario hit just .209/.283/.296, but this year he’s torching the league, putting himself in the top 10 in average, on-base and slugging with a .328/.387/.587 line. Last night, he was 2-for-4 with two doubles (13) and two RBIs (37). . . Brandon Crawford (Giants) made his professional debut on Monday night, getting his first hit as a pinch hitter. Last night, he made his first professional start and went 1-for-4 with a triple and an RBI. . . Idaho Falls shortstop J.D. Alfaro (Royals) went 3-for-4 with a double (17), two runs scored (29) and two RBIs (42). The Royals’ ninth-round pick this year out of Grayson County College is now hitting .276/.306/.535 on the season. . . Ogden lefthander Jonathan Dutton (Dodgers) struck out a career-high 13 against Helena (Brewers). . . All games in the Gulf Coast League were cancelled yesterday because of rain.
What To Watch For Today
Dan Osterbrock (Twins) will face off against Matt Moore (Rays) tonight as Elizabethton takes on Princeton in the Appalachian League. Osterbrock is 6-2, 3.15 on the season and Moore is 2-2, 2.03.
