Prospect Of The Day
Rome (Braves) first baseman Freddie Freeman went 4-for-4 with a triple and two RBIs in a 5-3 win over Greensboro (Marlins). The big 6-foot-5, 220-pounder extended his hitting streak to eight games, including four straight multi-hit games to raise his line to .308/.364/.517 in 331 at-bats.
Prospect Nuggets
Savannah (Mets) righthander Scott Moviel pitched seven strong innings against West Virginia (Brewers), limiting the Power to one run on three hits, with one walk and two strikeouts. Graham gave up only two hits, fanned eight and walked three to improve to 7-4, 2.06 on the year … In the first game of that doubleheader, Hagerstown right fielder Michael Burgess hit his 16th home run of the year. Burgess went 2-for-4 between the two games … Lakewood (Phillies) center fielder Dominic Brown went 2-for-4 with his seventh home run of the year and two RBIs in a 6-4 win over Augusta (Giants).
